This is Jilly
I’m not very good at talking about myself. I just don’t seem to find myself to be very exciting or interesting, although my friends do.
I have recently retired as a custom framer from Michaels Arts and Crafts in Ontario, Canada and have loved and valued the experiences I have had. I can’t begin to count the number of wonderful pieces of art and memorabilia that has crossed the counter for me to frame. Choosing colors of mats and the “just perfect” frame to compliment these pieces has been fun, exhilarating and satisfying for me. Seeing the looks of the customers’ faces has been the most rewarding time of my career with them at Michaels.
I have been fortunate to have all the lessons and experiences carry over to my crafting. I am not a professional crocheter or cross stitcher by any means, but, I have been doing both for so long that I can’t even remember when I started them. I am my own worst enemy when it comes to critiquing my own work and I will rip something apart many times until it is just the way I want it.
I love many things – crochet, cross stitch, cards, fabric, ribbon, buttons, lace, the list is endless. I am constantly inspired by everything around me and just staring at a button or piece of ribbon will get me motivated. At Jillys Stuff it is exactly that – all of my stuff made from the things I love. I can have several projects going at once and there is always something new as I try my hand at a craft that I may have never done before or a pattern that is just too good to resist.
I hope you will continue to follow my blog and all of the hits and disasters of my crafting along with Buck my trusty beagle. Heaven only knows what I will come up with next.
